Money pit

Another $25,000 for the Richardson Street fiasco (The Union, Aug. 12)? This is a job that had hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on so-called planning which somehow did not allow for contaminated soil at a 30-year gas station site, re-location of utilities, sewer and surface water drainage and now sidewalks and landscaping.

Our Grass Valley city government is an incompetent money pit with absolutely no regard for taxpayers’ hard-earned money and quality of life.

The same article explains how we “the taxpayers” will buy the mayor’s travel tickets to Bodmin, Cornwall. I think this a great idea, assuming it is one-way passage only. Now if we can just ship the rest of our Grass Valley government off to unsuspecting countries, we would all be better off. Nothing would make me happier.
