Money cannot buy . . .

Of course, we work hard for the money we’re fortunate enough to have. Most of us know the value of money and know what money can purchase. More abstract is the concept of what money cannot buy – especially for 9-year old third-graders. I’d like to brighten your day with my students’ responses (no guidance from me) to the open-ended sentence: “Things I value that money cannot buy…”:

Joy, hope, love, care, peace, respect, trust, loyalty, friendship, kindness, sunshine, snow, family, hope, courage, jobs, happiness, smiles, your face, rain, parents.

Beautiful thoughts…
