Mega-operations do dirty work then leave

People move to the country from urban areas and are shocked to find timber harvested, metal ore being mined out of the ground and dams across rivers. I don’t know why. Where do they think their wooden homes, metal cars and tap water come from?

Alternative materials also come from the land. Until our government decides to give land to people for private farms, timber companies, mines, waterworks and game preserves, government mega-operations will continue. One day, the mega-operations will all go away, when civilization runs its course and decays.
