How long I’ve lived in Nevada County: Since 1987.

Why I like living here: I like the rural feel and hope that it always stays that way.

What I do in my spare time: What spare time? When I do find some, I enjoy playing with my horses and my two new baby colts.

My family: Husband Tom and all of our animals.

Favorite food: Anything vegetarian.

Pets: My dog, Maddie; three cats; four horses; 11 chickens and some fish.

Job: Florist, owner of Grass Valley Florist

What I like about my job: Looking at amazing flowers every day; they’re all so unique.

What I would change about my job: The public perception that this is easy.

The best job I ever had: Working at a ski resort, riding a chair lift to my job site at 7 a.m.

If I won a million: I’d pay off my loan and take a vacation.

My favorite vacation: A cruise in Alaska with my family, by far.

My dream vacation: A beach, a mai tai and a month with my husband.

My greatest accomplishment: Owning this business.

What I’d change about the world: People’s perceptions about each other. There should be more acceptance of other people.

The people who have made the biggest difference in my life: My mother and my co-worker, Laura.

My heroes: Old cowboys and pioneers.

The best book I’ve read recently: “Breaking Clean” by Judy Blunt.

Favorite TV show: Anything on HGTV.
