The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) local Capt. John Oldham Chapter wishes to praise and thank the Nevada 13 Masonic Lodge of Nevada City for its continuous good work in organizing the Constitution Day parade and the re-enactment of the signing of the Constitution.

We particularly appreciate this effort, as the designation of Constitution Week originated at the DAR Continental Congress in 1955. The DAR resolution was received by members of the United States Congress in June 1955. President Eisenhower designated Sept. 17-23 annually as Constitution Week on Aug. 2, 1956.
