Marine sends thanks

I am a lance corporal in the Marine Corps serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom II. Because of time restrictions, it is through you that I wish to extend my thanks to the students in Mrs. Keller’s fifth-grade class, Pleasant Ridge Elementary School.

I cannot express the sincere thanks of myself and the other members of my team for the heartfelt letters and necessities in the care package that you took the time to send. It reminded all of us that we are not forgotten and the real purpose we are out here, to protect the freedoms of Americans everywhere, as well as for future generations.

It was my intent, as well as the other members of my team, to respond to each of your letters individually; however because of how quickly you all will be graduating and how slow the mail is, that will not be feasible. So please let me take this opportunity to thank you all, not just for the letters and the items sent, though they are much appreciated; but mostly for remembering us and keeping us close to your hearts.

With sincere thanks from myself and the other members of my team.
