Many on the side of tree-sitters

I understand that our system does not support all that is right, but you must just think about the people who spend all their time trying to change things. In this day and age, people complain a lot but you rarely see change.

I, too, am disgusted with Sierra Pacific Industries. If I didn’t have a family to attend to, I would be up there in the trees with the sitters. If anyone has ever seen what sheer devastation is left behind after a clear-cut, they would understand, too.

Just because our government is crooked and sold the land to SPI doesn’t mean that what they are doing is OK. In reality, it is much similar to that of adopting a child. Just because the law says a family may adopt, it doesn’t mean that you can do anything you like with the child.

In that same respect, I think that our government should rewrite the laws regarding timber cutting and look for the best interest of our planet, not our wallets.

At the beginning of the summer, I called every organization I could think of to share my concerns about our forests. I got no resolution, just a bunch of propaganda from people who are for clear-cutting. They say that it is a “strong fire break” which will assist our neighborhood from burning in a forest fire. Well, of course it is a great fire break… Entire mountains are bare now.

I would just like to thank all those who spend their days and nights tree-sitting and going to court to fight for what is right. There are a lot of people on your side.
