Man charged with rape of teenager

A man who has been living in Grass Valley for the past four months after moving from Mexico has been charged with four rape-related crimes against a 16-year-old girl.

David Cedeno-Garcia is charged with rape on an incompetent person, forcible rape, sodomy by force, and sodomy on an incompetent person. He was arrested Monday and is expected to be in court today to enter a plea.

According to the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office, Cedeno-Garcia moved to Grass Valley recently to visit family members. On June 19, an educationally impaired girl reported she had been raped by Cedeno-Garcia.



The girl was taken to the hospital, and authorities were called in to investigate.
