Majority wants prefix change

I am looking forward to the Nov. 20 California Public Utilities Committee hearing. As a resident of Western Nevada County, I have been forced to pay toll call charges every time I call Penn Valley, Grass Valley and Nevada City. The majority of my neighbors want and support a prefix change. My last telephone bill reflected 130 toll calls to Penn Valley, Grass Valley and Nevada City. These calls should be local calls for me. I do not need or want a 639 prefix, which identifies me with Yuba County. What I do need and want is identification with the county I live in. I hope all the Nevada County residents with a 639 prefix will stand up and be counted on Nov. 20.
