Mail absentee ballots soon

The U.S. Postal Service recommends that absentee ballots be mailed no later than Friday to ensure delivery by Election Day.

Absentee ballots must be received in the Nevada County Elections Office or delivered to a polling place by 8 p.m. Tuesday, or they cannot be counted. Postmarks are not valid. The polls are open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Election Day.

County voters who did not request an absentee ballot and cannot go to the polls on Election Day can vote in the Elections Office from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. through Monday and from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Election Day.
