Lorraine Jewett-Burdick is resorting

Lorraine Jewett-Burdick is resorting to exaggerations to get re-elected, claiming she saves $5,000 every election by using volunteers “rather than paid staff.” Most of these “paid staff” worked for minimum wage for about two hours election night. Divide her figure by five to get the truth.

She claims more savings by not flying or driving ballots down from Truckee. She doesn’t mention that the pilot donated the service, and the ballots have to be driven down anyway. Counting ballots in Truckee required a $15,000 ballot-scanner and paying high-priced consultants.

Kevin Waggoner understands elections; the incumbent doesn’t.
