Locals join NYC relief effort

Six members of First Southern Baptist Church in Grass Valley will be part of disaster relief teams preparing meals for workers at the Staten Island landfill where debris from the World Trade Center is being processed.

The six members are among the more than 30 volunteers who will be part of two Southern Baptist disaster relief teams serving March 6-21 during the six-month anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.



Scheduled to serve during the first week, March 6-14, are Anna Addington of Penn Valley, Marvin Rackley of Nevada City and Sue Ramey of Grass Valley. Serving during the second week, March 13-21 are Cindy McKinney, Josh Ramey and Ryan Smart, all of Grass Valley.
