Yes on S

I very much enjoyed The Union’s juxtaposition of the Measure S proposition arguments made by Don Bessee and Cheryl Bradley (Oct. 16).

After reading both, it seemed quite obvious to me that Mr. Bessee was oblivious to the reason Measure S is even on the ballot. His words were of a desperate nature. One would get the feeling that the evil’s of marijuana were overwhelming and invasive and that the quality of life here in Nevada County was destined to be crumbled if Measure S passes.

Somebody should tell Mr. Bessee (and all ‘No on S’ people) that this is the 21st century and marijuana is here to stay. It is, and has been, an incredibly effective medicine for myriad ailments for all millennium. It has also been an incredibly safe and effective tonic for mankind’s stress and relaxation as well. That sounds pretty logical and acceptable to me … and a whole lot of other folks in this world.

It’s time to get on board and let go of your angst surrounding marijuana. May I suggest a ‘yes’ vote on Measure S? Yes.
