Winds of change are refreshing

How refreshing to read the piece from Reinette Senum in The Union on Oct. 4! I’ve long felt that our current political process is wearing thin and that the only thing keeping it alive is our continued willingness to accept the dogma of separation and divisiveness that is its foundation.

That Reinette and Stan Meckler can share breakfast and let all that go in a moment is a sure sign that the winds of change are picking up.

Instead of focusing on the labels that divide us, they have chosen to peel them off and see that what is underneath is the eternal spark of human hope that we all share. In casting aside these false dichotomies, they are demonstrating the kind of leadership a person can really get behind. I’m looking forward to their continued collaboration, and the high level of integrity and enduring commitment to principle that they each bring to the table.

When we set aside those things we are against, and instead focus on what we are for, we’ll surely find common ground upon which to build.

May the winds of change fan the spark of hope!
