Vaughan Wright: The next ice age?

The concept that human activities were warming the earth was investigated thoroughly and the results were published in 2010 online as the Global Warming Petition Project.

The conclusion was “There is no convincing evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the earth’s atmosphere and disruption of the earth’s climate.” This petition was signed by 31,487 American scientists, including 9,029 with PhDs; their names and qualifications are listed on the website.

President Obama recently referred to these people as cave men.

This is science, not mythology. The much ballyhooed global average temperature rise of over 2 degrees C in the 1990s is very suspect. In 1988 there were over 12,000 monitoring stations globally; in 2000 there were only about 5,000 — over a 60 percent drop. What regions are no longer being monitored? This year the Space and Science Research Corporation, a leader in climate prediction, has dropped use of NASA and NOAA ground based data because of data insistencies. There is no direct evidence that planned reductions in CO2 emissions will affect climate. Are we heading toward the next ice age?
