Stan Meckler: Let’s end the insanity; vote Yes on W

As of January 2016, 100 cities and counties in California have banned outdoor marijuana grows and 63 additional cities and counties have bans pending. These figures include cities and counties throughout California. There has to be a reason.

Could it be because of the crime it brings to the community? Could it be because illegal growers are stealing water and diverting it to their illicit crops? Maybe it’s because the growers cut down trees, illegally terrace the property, use makeshift equipment to create electricity hazards and pollute our rivers and streams with chemicals and poisons. Vote Yes on Measure W to stop this insanity.

I for one am appalled that we would allow this to continue in our beautiful community. Whatever happened to the pride we have always had in our community? Whatever happened to the pride we took in our schools, always being at the top end of the academic scale? Not only is our enrollment down, but the academic scores over the last 10 years have drastically decreased. Could it be because drugs have become more readily available in our community and on school campuses? Vote Yes on Measure W to stop this insanity.

Why are we trying to make it easier for our children to get marijuana? Help law enforcement do its job by making it illegal to have any outdoor marijuana grows in Nevada County. Let’s stop this insanity by voting Yes on Measure W.
