Scottie Hart: Sad to hear computer learning center to close

How sad I am to learn that the Gold Country Computer Learning Center will close Oct. 1. This is a real loss to the community.

When I bought my present computer a few years ago, I chose a PC because I knew I’d have access to classes at GCCLC (more recently they have added Mac classes). I have taken a number of classes there, used their student lab, and even gotten personal tutoring. Their volunteers have consistently been very knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. And the price has always been a real bargain.

I am planning to get a new computer soon, and was expecting to get help from GCCLC on using the new operating system. I will look around and find someone else to help me, but I can’t imagine that I will be as 100 percent totally pleased as I have been with GCCLC.

Thanks, GCCLC; you’ll be missed.
