Sally Knutson: Publicity boosts a worthy cause
December 5, 2018
Bonnie Magnetti and I would like to express our extreme gratitude to the The Union freelance writer Lorraine Jewett and Multimedia Reporter Elias Funez, as well as KNCO newsman Geoff Flynn, all of whom have given our project to place wreaths on 1,022 graves at St. Patrick and Greenwood cemeteries a shot in the arm, which should see us meet our goal for this years' Wreaths Across America ceremony on Dec. 15.
At noon, cemeteries all over America will remember our veterans by placing of fresh wreaths on their graves. As members of the Captain John Oldham Chapter of DAR, we invite you to attend the ceremony at St. Patrick's cemetery on West Main Street at high noon on Dec. 15. Bring your children and let them help place these wreaths on the pre-marked graves.
You can teach them about patriotism and service to our country. Again, thanks to Lorraine, Elias and Geoff.
