Roger Lilly: A letter to the newspaper thief

I subscribe to two newspapers, a national paper and The Union. The workers producing The Union may feel it a compliment that you only steal their product, however I cannot share this pride. Currently I receive one or two newspapers a week via rural delivery instead the six newspapers that I am paying for.

I am sure you know who you are, but just in case, you are stealing from my newspaper tube along Highway 174 near Peardale. Should I be fortunate enough to get a photograph of you in action you may be assured that I will share it with the newspaper and the sheriff’s department. I assure you that I will be trying to get the picture.

On the other hand, you could subscribe to The Union if you are so interested in the local news. That is what I have done for the last 20 years.
