Richard Martin: More transparency at Lake Wildwood?

Recently several eBit issues contained a comment from our general manager, Debbie Casey, that she has agreed to a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for the new Lake Wildwood clubhouse.

Wouldn’t it be appropriate for her to disclose that figure, when she makes that comment? I have asked her for that information more than once yet never received an answer. As I recall, I am paying her salary and she works for the members.

That brings a bigger question. We have been advised that the $5.5 million approved is now $6.5 million and growing. Ms. Casey has got to have a reasonable estimate of the final cost at this point. Exactly how is the overrun going to be financed? Additional assessment? Increased annual dues? Or, both?

Come on, Ms. Casey, a little transparency and accountability, please, long overdue.
