Measure S the sensible solution

What is going on? Two years ago the County Supervisors created a hurried medical marijuana ordinance with the idea of fixing it as needed. No changes were ever considered such as plant count instead of square footage, sloping ground verses level sites, out of date school bus stops, no provision for grower cooperatives, etc.

Instead, to make changes it required the creation of an initiative with thousands of signatures to address these minor issues and then the county took almost half a year to verify the signatures. The official ballot language is anything but neutral as is legally required. The Board of Realtors endorsed the original law even though 82 percent of their members were in favor of the new initiative.

Where are our property rights? One of the framers of the new initiative was targeted by the sheriffs and thrown to the concrete when he requested to see a search warrant on his own doorstep. It is very alarming to see Nevada County becoming a Police State. Unfortunately, alternative medicine is becoming a life or death issue for one in two of us older citizens. Please vote yes on Measure S, the sensible solution.
