Mail delivery needs to be more efficient

The postage is going to be raised again, but there is nothing being done to make delivery more efficient, I have seen postal carriers deliver mail to private homes by walking 25 feet to the front door mail-drop. In addition, I have seen two adjacent homes that have mail boxes at the extreme end of each frontage. How about mail delivered up 24 steps to the front door? Mail security and safety of the carriers are essential, but some excessive drop-off points can be greatly modified to facilitate efficiency and to save time ($).
