M.J. Bonnington: Interfaith Food Ministry’s Garden Gals

Kudos to the”Garden Gals” who developed a vegetable garden for Interfaith Food Ministry. Last spring, when Hazel McPeek offered to share her garden and orchard with IFM, six women teamed up to take on the task of creating a harvest of fresh produce for IFM clients. On a recent gardening work day, Kate Brennan, Janet Jensen, Peggy Wall,

Rita Songbird, Liz Patch, Caroline Wessinger, Kathie Stebbins, Marion Ripley and Jackie Pascoe. Additional volunteers were Lynn and Debra Baker, Keith Badger and Jorgen Jensen, who installed fencing to keep deer out of the garden and filled raised garden beds with fresh soil. Gardening materials were donated by B&C Hardware, and Peaceful Valley.
