Linda Hawthorne: Enough with burning garbage
I live on Newtown Road right behind the Willo. Someone is burning garbage at all hours of the night. This goes on three or four times a week.
I can appreciate the need to save money, but does everybody know that burning plastic produces toxic fumes? I cannot go outside for a breath of fresh air, nor can I hang my clean clothes out to dry.
SPD has a recycle dumpster for plastics and cardboard, Monday through Friday. They do not charge anything for their service. I hope everybody uses this service and leaves alone the clean air.
Where is the EPA when you need them?
