Laura Petersen: Celebration of Trails a success

A big, big thank you to all of you wonderful people who made Celebration of Trails 2016 a success!

I was so encouraged to see such a diversity of ages and backgrounds and the number of families with young kiddos who got out of bed early on a Saturday morning to hit the trails. Thank you to our trek leaders, speakers, attendees, hosts, musicians, sponsors, partners, supporters and vendors.

There was a mind-blowing collection of activities, educational resources, knowledge, killer outdoor merchandise and the best tacos and beer on the planet. Momentum for trails is growing stronger as more and more people recognize the values of trails to our health, economy and relationships with nature and each other.

It was fun getting to know all of the outdoor recreationists in our community and I hope we can continue our partnerships long after trails day. I encourage folks to contact me any time if you want to share ideas or collaborate in the future to make our community a “Trails Town.” Learn more about trails at
