Julie Langston: Birds of feather

It is no surprise that Rep. LaMalfa was going to vote for his pal, Kevin McCarthy, to be Speaker of the U.S. House [The Union, Oct. 1, 2015].

McCarthy had to leave the race because he inadvertently spoke the truth that Republicans are wasting time and spending millions of taxpayer dollars trying to destroy their most formidable opponent.

Republicans will even shut the government down — it cost us $24 billion the last time — if they don’t get their way through normal processes.

They wrote a treasonous letter to the ayatollahs in Iran trying to undermine our State Department.

Republicans have drafted racists, paranoids, misogynists, bigots and gun crazies to help them grab more money and power, even while the country is awash in the blood of gun violence victims.

As President Obama said, Americans must educate themselves about candidates and then vote out these traitors.
