Joanne Crouch: Who needs a yard full of plants?

I am writing a response to a letter in The Union on May 11, by Marilyn Rosenbrock.

She insists that there is far more impact on society from using alcohol than marijuana. This is absurd, considering alcohol has been an enormous problem for many years — and marijuana is a fairly new substance invading our lives. No one is suggesting alcohol is not dangerous and addictive!

She says: “Somehow our addictions are no problem … but those pot-heads!”

As for the medical benefits, doesn’t growing 12 plants indoors address most people’s needs? Who actually needs a yard full of plants except for illegal purposes?

Please wake up America!

Vote yes on Measure W.
