Joan Pancharian: Election corruption alive and well
Our state senate election had the following results as announced in the online version of The Union. As of March 27, they were as follows:
Dahle (R): 44,764 votes or 28.7 %; Kiley (R): 44,519 votes, or 28.5%. Pflueger (D): 40,304 or 25.8%.
And our “Democrat,” Steve Baird won 9,035, or 5.8%.
Hmm. If you add Pflueger’s 40,304 to what likely would have been Democratic votes, you get, yes, 49,339 or 31.6 percent. Hey, it worked!
Steve, with help from a conglomerate, stole Pflueger’s first place and right to be in a run-off. Corruption is alive and well locally.
