Jim Firth: Juvinall off the mark, again

Todd Juvinall is off — on another rant. I guess he didn’t appreciate my exposing his inaccurate statements in his Other Voices piece last month (Sept. 9), so he’s continuing to mislead, misinform and embarrass himself and our community.

Todd really does need to get a grip on reality. “The locals on the Democrat {sic} Central Committee are afraid to tell you they are on the committee or even a paid activist.”

Democratic Central Committee members are registered with the Nevada County Elections Department (as are Republican Central Committee members).

We are issued business cards and hand them out; we staff market booths and the county fair booth, march in parades, have an office, website, phone number and monthly meetings.

The Nevada County Democratic Central Committee is a volunteer organization.

My advice to Todd is that he read something other than right wing-nut blogs, and stops listening to FOX entertainment News. Just possibly he will actually experience truth.

Jim Firth

Nevada County Democratic Central Committee chair
