Evans Phelps: No parade needed for Halloween’s celebratory spirit

All this talk about boo-hoo on Nevada City for not having a Halloween parade this year. On Halloween evening, well over 2,000 kids with parents, all dressed up, came by my house. Nearly every house in the neighborhood participated this year, and an amazing time was had by all.

The media may talk about a parade, but we all know where is the best place to hang out on Halloween is. Halloween is for the children and their parents of our community. We are unique and special and I defy anyone to name a community party with more good energy and fun times than the neighborhoods and downtown of Nevada City on Halloween evening.
