Emphasize the good in our community

Crime and mug shots on the front page are out of place.

Susan Perry is correct. Nevada County is a living place, warts and all. But why give the warts front-page space. Most, if not all of the crime being reported is drug related and frankly they are just “losers.” More than 85 percent of the crime in a community is committed by less than 2 to 3 percent of the population. There are too many other great things that happen in our community and great people making them happen.

Let’s emphasize the other 97 percent, so that people from the outside as well as the inside know it is a great place to live.
