Eddie Falick: Nevada County author a treasure

A while back author Doc Dachtler favored me with a copy of his latest missal, “Skid Marks and Snow Geese,” which I enjoyed very much; and so dug up some other of his ramblings: “Drawknife” and “Waiting For Chains at Pearls.”

I sometimes forget that Nevada County has a great literary tradition. For any reader who cares about the heritage of our little slice of heaven, I recommend, “Waiting for Chains,” which is just about the most entertaining back of tricks I’ve ever read on Mother Lode characters and their tales in the not-too-distant past.

Doc’s a treasure!
