Corporations’ hidden ‘Agenda 21’

Thanks to Christopher Rosacker for an excellent article about the talk given by Rosa Koire on Agenda 21. Ms. Koire has really missed the mark.

Agenda 21 is not a treaty or legally binding document, and it does not in any way infringe on the sovereignty of the U.S. or any state or local government. It does not advocate abolishing private property, and it has no effect on state and local government land-use planning.

There is, however, an effort underway that does threaten our sovereignty. For some time now secret (yes, truly secret, this is not a conspiracy theory code word) negotiations have taken place. This is known as the Trans-Pacific Partnership, or TPP. Among the negotiators with an effective seat at the table are representatives of trans-national corporations, and these corporations are seeking unprecedented power to infringe on consumer, labor and environmental interests in our country.

They want to create a framework in which a world organization (such as the World Trade Organization) has authority over many aspects of our national life. This is a real threat to our sovereignty. We need to let our elected officials know that we are absolutely opposed to these agreements.
