Bill Neville: Not all homeowners support Eskaton lawsuit

This is to clarify the Eskaton Grass Valley Village articles which have appeared recently in The Union. I am writing on behalf of myself, an Eskaton homeowner.

Although from a legal perspective, the lawsuit filed by Coley and Lorini is technically on behalf of the “other 130-plus homeowners” of Eskaton Village, Grass Valley, it is inaccurate to infer all 130-plus homeowners agree with filing the lawsuit.

I, along with many other homeowners were first made aware of the suit at a Christmas season dinner, weeks after the suit was filed. Claiming support of all the homeowners is possible through the use of a legal technicality without having previously contacted all, most, or even many of the home owners on the subject lawsuit.

Because neither party to the suit feels free to discuss the issues in detail, I, like the great majority of those Eskaton homeowners I have talked to, have no idea if the suit is in my personal best interests.

I would therefore appreciate the newspaper making it clear that while legally this class-action suit represents all homeowners in Eskaton Village, there are several, perhaps many of us, who don’t feel we can support the suit.
