“Art From the Heart” after-school program takes place at the Center for the Arts, Room 315, in Grass Valley, 3:30-4:45 p.m. Art from the Heart presents children’s theater, child centered productions, music and art for ages 5-8 years old. 470-8576.

Foothill Theatre Company’s “The Nerd” is presented free tonight as a benefit for Sierra Adoption Services at Nevada Theatre, 401 Broad St. in Nevada City. A half-hour presentation by the nonprofit adoption agency is at 6:30 p.m., followed by the play and then a reception. Admission is free; donations will be accepted for Sierra Adoption Services. 478-0900.
