Leipzig anniversary

June 14 marks the 60th wedding anniversary of George and Marguerite (Brian) Leipzig of Lake Wildwood.

The Leipzigs were married in 1947 in Portland, Ore., shortly before moving to California. They have nine children and six grandchildren. The family will gather for festivities Saturday, June 16, and Sunday, June 17, for a renewal of their wedding vows at St. Patrick’s Church in Grass Valley.

The Leipzigs lived in the Bay Area for many years where Mr. Leipzig was a food chemist with the American Can Co. Among many community activities, Mrs. Leipzig served as mayor of Redwood City. Since retirement, both have served on numerous board and commissions in Nevada County. Mr. Leipzig serves on the board of directors of the Nevada Irrigation District and was on the board of the Western Gateway Park District. Mrs. Leipzig served, for many years, on the board of directors of the Lake Wildwood Community Association.

Attending the celebration will be Victor and Louann Leipzig of Huntington Beach; Peter and Mary Leipzig of McKinleyville and children Laura and Peter; Paul and Sheri Leipzig of Salem, Ore., and children Mitchell and Travis; Avi and Mia (Leipzig) Kama of Roseville and daughter Keren; Brian Leipzig of San Jose; John and Ann (Leipzig) Bray of Wilmington; Jeff and Marguerite (Leipzig) Blackman of Vancouver, Wash.; Gregory and Jean Leipzig of Redwood City; and Matthias Leipzig of Redwood City.
