Leaving door open

After reading many of those letters chastising The Union publisher Jeff Ackerman for criticizing Michael Moore’s latest “documentary” without having seen it, I began to feel sorry for him. I decided to pony up a few bucks to see “Fahrenheit 9/11” and then offer my critique to Mr Ackerman.

However, after pondering the issue, I changed my mind. It occurred to me that one does not have to witness a mugging to understand just how distasteful that must be. Also, I can imagine that the vast majority of those “open-minded” letter-writers would not hesitate to offer a negative opinion of conservative radio talk show host, Rush Limbaugh, without the benefit of tuning in his program.

I’m going to leave the door open on Moore’s film. I’m sure it is every bit as accurate and realistic as “Shrek 2”.
