Law center helped court win award

The Nevada County Public Law Center helped the county court garner a statewide award this week.

Nevada County Superior Court was among 10 state recipients of the 2002 Ralph M. Kleps Award for improvements in court administration.

Court Executive Officer Paula Carli credited Judge M. Kathleen Butz, Law Center Director Kent Vanderschuit and others for their efforts.

The law center helps people represent themselves in court by providing information on adoption, conservatorship, guardianship, name change, landlord/tenant, traffic, appeals and harassment cases, and also jury service.

For more information on the court or its law center, visit http://www.nevadacountycourt.com, or call the law center at 470-2594.
