Kudos

The Friendship Club would like to thank all the golfers, race car drivers and their supporters who turned out to make the fifth Annual Friendship 100 a success. These individuals and businesses help provide funds for after school and enrichment programs for at risk adolescent girls in our community. A big thank you to Peter and Gail Zisko for once more giving us the 49er Fun Park. Special recognition must also go to our announcer extordinaire, William Spencer and pit boss, Lance Amaral. Roamin Angels

Once again the Grass Valley Church of The Salvation Army wants to acknowledge the Roamin’ Angels. This organization has given a generous donation so that six children from Nevada County were able to attend summer camp. Their continued support of The Salvation Army is so valued not only by the Grass Valley Church, but also by the community who benefits from their donations. Again, a big Thank you to the Roamin’ Angels.

School of the Arts

Nevada City School of the Arts would like to thank Hills Flat Lumber, Rare Earth and Tractor Factor for their generous donation of time and supplies. The donations and the time given by these local companies have given NCSA safer and more attractive play areas.

Thanks to Paulus

More than a decade ago, Robert Paulus retired as director of CDF and went into quiet retirement in North Columbia. In 2000 he returned as a director of the North San Juan Fire Protection District. NSJ firefighters and staff are immensely grateful to Bob for the expertise and professionalism he has helped bring to our fire department.
