Road-kill cleanup

deserves our thanks

A big kudos and a loud thank-you to our county and our Caltrans maintenance workers who have the horrible task of cleaning up our daily road kill. In the past couple of weeks, there have been five or more dead deer or other animals on Highway 49 each day, not to mention the other roads with traffic.

The job of picking up mangled and many times dismembered animal carcasses is stomach-retching and not a job that many of us would want. So to all of you, thank- you. It is a sad and many times thankless job, but those of us who drive appreciate your work.

‘Thanks to Give’ donors appreciated

Sincere thanks to all who donated time and money to ensure the success of the “Thanks to Give” project. In our fifth year delivering meals and bouquets to seniors on Thanksgiving Day, we are once again grateful for our local business and community support of this worthwhile effort. A special thank-you to SPD Market, After Hours Flowers, Grass Valley Florist and the High Noon Nutrition Program staff for their generosity and support.
