Klein too self-serving

In a recent “Other Voices,” Aaron Klein, the young Sierra College trustee, compares himself to Hiram Johnson and Ronald Reagan. “I think it’s pretty clear to my fellow citizens that I’m not at Sierra College to do small things,” he boasts.

The “accomplishments” for which young Klein claims credit – a compensation package for employees and a facilities plan – are actually the work of seasoned administrators, faculty members, and classified employees serving on District committees. When Kline simply approves these plans at a Board meeting, then boasts to his constituents of his “accomplishments,” he is beating his own very hollow drum.

Mr. Klein has only one feat as a Board member for which he can claim ownership: the unwarranted, ill-advised, and expensive ouster of Sierra College President Kevin Ramirez. The Rocklin “do littles” wanted Ramirez out, paid for Klein’s trustee campaign, then encouraged his attack upon Ramirez. Klein’s accusations were later characterized by a grand jury as utterly unfounded.

If Klein were truly interested in helping Sierra College, he would be campaigning for Measure B in Placer County, not writing delusional columns about himself in The Union.
