Keep local jazz programming on radio

Len Gorsky has been broadcasting jazz on KVMR for nearly 20 years, and now it seems his thank you from the station will be a pink slip.

Alternating with Bruce Tepper, Len has filled Tuesday evenings with classic sounds that have lived beyond their time. It now seems that great resource will no longer be available to our community, from a station that calls itself community-oriented. The shift is said to be so another program can have the popular Tuesday night slot.

It’s time to grab the pitchforks, light the torches and march on the castle … they’re making monsters again. Jazz fans should contact program director Steve Baker at 265-9073 and ask him to keep locally programmed jazz on the air.

If nobody else will say it, I will. Thanks, Lenny! More please.
