It’s not the Christmas season yet

Thanks to our local Kmart for reminding me that there were 101 shopping days left until Christmas. Imagine my delight as I walked into the store to see artificial, lighted Christmas trees displayed next to plastic orange and purple pumpkins. Of course, in the mix were the traditional autumn and Thanksgiving products, also.

I must have had a deprived childhood. Growing up in the 1960s and 1970s, we were not allowed to see Christmas decorations until after Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving decorations until after Halloween, and Halloween decorations and merchandise until October. But now, you can have it all in September!
