Israelis and Palestinians

I would like to thank Dick Tracy for his truthful, informative letters about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

While working for the U.S. government, I lived in both Europe and the Middle East. During that time I visited Dachau on several occasions and was sickened to learn first-hand about the horrors that went on there. That is why I can’t understand the Israelis who continue to terrorize and make life a living hell for Palestinians (with the help of our tax money). I wonder if it is similar to a person who is horribly mistreated as a child and then grows up to be a sadistic child abuser himself.

And to all the right-wing Christians who support Zionism, the New Testament I read doesn’t quote Jesus as saying it is OK to continually steal people’s land, bulldoze their houses and orchards, and murder them in the process. Today, this is called ethnic cleansing. We in the U.S. are pitifully naive if we think peace can come to us without first solving this conflict fairly.

Even some Israelis are saying, enough is enough. Try this Web site for a start: the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions,
