IRS: Take the easy way out

Hey, it’s tax time. If you owe, then you probably don’t feel like waving a flag.

I’m determined not to owe. I almost went all the way with Telefile and discovered that I would owe almost $500 more than I already paid.

So, be careful. I’m sure I can deduct interest on student loans and my daughter, but what’s this? Telefile has no place for such deductions. Is my government trying to lull me into taking the easy way out? Well, in my case, it wouldn’t be easy to pay $500. I can hardly pay my rent and utilities. Still, we live in a wonderful country, and I’m never afraid that I’ll be beaten on the street for not wearing a veil on my face. Should I expect more? Affordable housing? Better wages? I made less than $18,000 this year, and the IRS wants me to pay them more than $1,000 in taxes. Lucky, lucky me.
