Insist on fire vote

“Beware” should be the first word you pay attention to on your fire ballot.

Justice – I own my home but not the land it is on. In this mobile home park, there are 104 residences on five or six acres. Many of these mobile homes are valued at less than $10,000, and I doubt any are more than $70,000. Many of these residents are on S.S. or S.S.I.

We do not get a vote on this issue. If it passes, we have to pay. We will be charged less than homeowners of $500,000 and $1 million, but look at the amount we have to pay in comparison to value. That part of it is outrageous. This is taxation without representation. This is not the American way.

There are many mobile home parks in this area. They are the most economical for the low income. The firefighters want money; they want paying jobs, but there is no end to equipment they need. This 3-percent raise every year without our vote is excess.

We need to stop it cold. And insist on it being brought to the voters.
