Insensitivity showed to fire victim

Our friend and downtown business owner, Louanne Witt, lost her home in a fire that started as a car fire on 49.

In your front-page article, you implied that she was remiss for not having proper clearance around her home. This was incredibly insensitive. We all have landscaping around our homes, and it was the wind and the slope of the hill that caused the fire to spread directly to her home and not the neighboring homes. Adding insult to injury in the wake of her terrible loss! I think you owe her an apology.
