Incredible quotation

I usually consider the source when I see a particularly stupid response from a spokesperson for some governmental official – the tongue and the brain were not engaged. However, I can not overlook the remark made by Vernell Crittendon, the spokesperson for a prison. Don Thompson wrote in his Jan. 16 article that appeared in The Union on the execution of Clarence Ray Allen that Allen, who possibly anticipated another heart attack before his execution, asked that he be allowed to die in cardiac arrest if the event happened. Spokesperson Crittendon said the request would not be honored and “we would resusitate him. At no point are we not going to value the sanctity of life.” O’boy!
