Incomplete response

On Jan. 7, you published a letter of mine suggesting California secede from the union and asking for dialogue pro and con. When I wrote this, I thought my idea was unique. Later, I did a Google search of “California secession” and was surprised. On Jan. 15, The Union published a reply calling secession “stupid” without stating why. The letter writer then attacked the messenger, suggesting I move to “free” countries like North Korea and Syria. If the president continues his attack on our Constitution with legislation like the Patriot Act and his proposed amendments, we won’t have to move to enjoy the “freedoms” of North Korea and the religious freedom enjoyed in Iran.

Since the responder couldn’t suggest why secession was bad, let me suggest one. If California seceded, the Bush administration would have a stronger hold on the remaining USA, furthering his goal of Pax Americana and 21st century Middle East Crusades along with destruction of the American middle class and Social Security.

Neocons keep suggesting liberals “stop whining, that Bush won.” Well, we will stop the same as their hero, Rush Limbaugh, did during Clinton’s presidency.
