Navy Seaman Corey Oliver graduated from Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill., Oct. 15.

His eight weeks of training included physical fitness, as well as the study of naval history, weapons, water safety, firefighting, shipboard operation and safety. He is stationed at Naval Station Norfolk, Va., pursuing education as an operation specialist.

He is the son of Michael and Michele Oliver of Nevada City. He is a 2004 graduate of Nevada Union High School.



Rogers

Navy Seaman Anna Rogers completed U.S. Navy basic training and was meritoriously promoted to her current rank at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.




Rogers is a 2004 graduate of Bear River High School.
